We think everyone wants to go somewhere, whether it’s just to the city next door or the other side of the world, but it would be impossible to cater to them all! Rather our travel website is geared towards professionals from their late 20s to early 60s, just starting their careers or recently retired, who have the financial means (but not necessarily the time available) to travel. Perhaps they don’t have the time to do their own research but want recommendations, or they connect with us for inspiration and assistance when it comes to planning.

They might be solo travelers, couples (newlyweds going on their honeymoon) or groups of friends, looking to get off-the-beaten-path and really immerse themselves in the culture, environment, and people of their chosen destination. We not only focus on an audience that wants to go on adventure, private tour, small group, or luxury travel trips, but specifically travelers who are willing to make a considerable financial investment into their travels.

On average, most of these destinations take a day or two to get to, and the trip can cost around $2,000-$5,000USD+ per person. Reason being, these are places with limited resources when it comes to lodging, food, and other accommodations. In addition, a lot of time, energy, skills, and investment are required for tour companies to operate in these areas. Lastly, with the nature of private tours, unforgettable experiences, and venturing away from “touristy” places, our audience of visitors understand these trips are well worth making.

In addition, as a full-time wedding and travel photographer myself (Henry), we put a strong emphasis on taking high quality images on our trips and not only providing them to our tour company partners, but also resources and tips to other photographers. Our target audience of visitors (to our website) and listeners (to our travel podcast) tend to be travelers looking to take their photography to the next level, so we keep that in mind when structuring our content.

Overall, our target audience is probably best described as someone just like us from a few years ago: professionals in the middle of their career and aspiring to travel, who have the financial means but only a few weeks of vacation time and no network of resources to plan the next trip. Seeking the road-less traveled, wanting to immerse oneself in their new surroundings, putting a high priority on photography, and wanting to share their travel experiences with their family and friends: those are the individuals we’re speaking to on this website.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US

After being inspired so much by our own travel encounters, we wanted to help others get out and explore the world by sharing our adventure, private tour, small group, and luxury travel trip experiences. Unlike many travel bloggers out there, we are both full-time professionals back home (my wife Charlene has a clinical pharmacist and myself as a wedding photographer and podcaster), working on average 50-60+ hours per week.

So we’re not able to do long term travel (we’re lucky to find even a few days to be away from our computers and phones!), and most of the trips we go on cost several thousand U.S. Dollars per person, making it financially impossible to travel for more than a 2-3+ weeks.

But travel is very much a part of our life (like eating and sleeping!), and we try and get away for at least three trips per year. We understand that a lot of people are in the same boat, with only a few weeks of vacation from their job each year. This travel resource website is designed to offer tips, insights, and stories that will help and inspire them to plan their next adventure, and allow them to experience the most from their destination in the short amount of time they have available.

You can sign up for just one or multiple ones together, and we’ll do our best to provide you a quote/terms and conditions that are most reasonable to both parties.

If you want to catch our reader’s eyes, you can display your logo, images, and text throughout our website, with different sizing and positioning available. We require a minimum 3-month commitment for banner ads, with payment made via PayPal.

2. Use our high quality professional travel photos:

Each and every trip we embark on we come away with several hundred high quality travel photos, using the latest camera equipment. If you need high resolution images for your website, social media channels or other travel material from destinations we’ve visited, we offer non-watermarked photos for unlimited use.

All images are captured using professional Canon and Sony cameras and lenses, are high resolution (roughly 3900x2600px), in JPEG format, and fully edited using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. They are available via a Dropbox link and can be used indefinitely once purchased.

We kindly ask that you don’t use our images without our permission, and please contact us if you’re interested. It took us a lot of time and money to learn photography, bring all the camera equipment to the various destinations, take the photos, and edit them afterwards. We just ask to be compensated for this, especially if it helps you and your business. Thank you.

  • Right to use 10 images: $90.
  • Right to use 50 images: $450.

3. Sponsored reviews of your service and/or product:

We are always on the lookout for the latest in travel products, exceptional tour services, and inspiring websites to share with our blog readers. We can provide sponsored reviews of products and services with which we have experience, and will do so in an honest and unbiased manner.

Reviews will be around 800-1000+ words, and high-quality images (if we have any or are able to photograph your service/product) can be provided to accompany them on request. We will post articles on our website as related to specific trips or destinations we have visited, and they will be visible 2-3 weeks after the review has been requested.

The cost for reviews starts at $100USD+, depending on content length and requirements.

5. Podcast advertising on the Only A Day Away Travel Podcast:

Our bi-monthly travel podcast is available every Monday at 8AM PST and tackles different travel experiences to inspire professionals like us to embark on their next adventure, private tour, small group, or luxury travel trip. Our target audience is solo travelers, couples, and groups of friends (in their late 20s to their early 60s), with the financial means to travel (but not necessarily the time available to go for long periods).

We want to partner with travel companies and tour operators who want an audio outlet to promote their services by providing spoken advertisements throughout the podcast. In addition to reading out your advertisement clip during your requested section of the episode, we will also provide a direct link to your website in the show notes.

All podcast advertisement packages are valid for two episodes per month and the podcast is available free worldwide on iTunes, Stitcher, acast, and other podcasting applications. We require a minimum 3-month commitment for podcast ads, with payment made via PayPal.

Costs:

  • 20-30 second clip read at the beginning of the episode (after introduction): $10/month.
  • A 50-60 second clip in the middle of the episode: $15/month.

The entire trip including transportation, lodging, excursions, and other miscellaneous expenses, plus airfare from LAX (Los Angeles, United States) and an additional $1,000-3,000USD+ in compensation for our time and services.
